My dog has bedsores, what can you do?

datum: 2022/05/17

Many dogs have lying spots on the ellenbows, how can you take care of this and reduce..

What are recumbent spots and how does your dog get them.

Does your dog have a rough spot on his ellenbow and does his hair fall out there. If so, this is probably a ligament
. A ligplek is a chronic thickening of the dog's skin in places where the skin makes a lot of contact with a hard surface.
Every time your dog lies down on a hard surface, the ulna tells the skin to thicken and thicken, causing calluses to form. The skin becomes thicker, cornified and hair loss occurs. If this happens often enough this area becomes cracked, bloody, infected or can even become ulcerated.
In that case, contact your veterinarian immediately. They often culminate in large black, bald spots on the elbows. We usually see lying spots on the sides of the ellenbows and on the sides of the heels.

How does your dog get it

With very regular contact with a hard surface, irritation can occur in the skin or bursa causing it to react. This takes place in places where the skin lies flush over bone such as the back and side of the elbows and side of the heels.

How to prevent lying down
It is of course already clear that a soft surface is of absolute importance in preventing lying down.
In addition, you can soothe the Lying spots  with the Elbow butter.

This feels much nicer for your dog.
