The Bessie and Barnie bagels are made in America using traditional craftsmanship.
The baskets exude immense luxury and are therefore known for their luxurious and soft fabrics, are durable and at the same time environmentally friendly.
Bessie and Barnie uses short-haired fabrics and long-haired fabrics, the shag fabrics. Both fabrics feel wonderfully soft.
The Outside Cover has a zipper that goes 360 degrees all around. This means you can unzip the cover completely.
TIP: With the long-haired shag fabrics, the hairs sometimes get between the zipper. With a plant sprayer, wet the fabric around the zipper a bit and push the shag fabric aside. That way you can easily get the zipper open and closed
Cleaning your bagel bed
The Bagel cover has been treated and made stain resistant. A small accident I just rinse under the tap or quickly with the garden hose (if you have an XL bagel)
Because the cover is detachable you can also very easily clean it in a quick hand wash. A hand wash is recommended, do not use a dryer but let it dry like this)
The inner filling of the bagel beds consists of 2 parts. A loose center pillow and a long round snake-like pillow.
These are filled with Eco friendly Polyfill. What that is ..those are those empty plastic drinking bottles we all know. So those are recycled and reused. Environmentally friendly ... really so! That entire inner filling is in a water repellent cover.
Should your dog pee in the basket, take off the cover and clean it with a quick hand wash and if necessary rinse the inner lining in the shower.
If you want to give that inner lining a refresh we recommend the following.
If you have a bath, let it half full with lukewarm water and some liquid detergent. Place the 2-piece inner lining in the bath and push it under so that it becomes saturated with water.
This way you can clean the lining with a damp cloth. Using your hands, gently knead the cover here and there, but leave the cover gently in the water. After 5 minutes of soaking, drain the bath water. The inner padding does not absorb water so all the water slowly sinks out of it as well. Push the excess water out of the inner cushions and let everything dry outside overnight. A sunny day also works wonders. Push the inner lining back into shape a bit and zipper the outer cover around the inner cushions.
The summer is an ideal period to clean the inner stuffing. This is because you can dry the inner stuffing outside in the sun. I notice that many people have those blue children's shell baths. So those are ideal for cleaning the covers outside.
